Islamabad Raja Muhammad
Zafarul Haq Secretary General of the World Muslim Congress
has said that the Muslims need not be afraid of any threat
from any quarter of the world as long as they adhere to the
tenets of Islam. He was addressing the Condolence meeting
held at the (WISH) Women’ Institute of Science and
Humanities. He said that unfortunately there were some
people in Pakistan who keep trying to create confusion about
the ideological destination of Pakistan but it should be
clear to all that the integrity and solidarity of the
country depends upon our adherence to Islam. He paid rich
tributes to Dr.Khalid Alvi who had devoted his life to
disseminate the message of Islam and remained steadfast
throughout his life.
Senator Professor
Khurshid Ahmed while speaking on the occasion said that Dr.
Khalid Alavi had set a goal of his life and throughout his
life he remained sincere to this goal and that was why he
achieved many successes in life. He advised the students of
Pakistan to set some goal in their lives which would help
them concentrate on their studies and accelerate achieving
successes in life. He said that Dr. Khalid Alavi was true
researcher who had employed old and new techniques of
research in his work.
Iftikhar Arif, Chairman
National Language Authority said that Dr. Khalid Alavi
excelled in communication and was such a pleasing
personality that every body could communicate with him
whether he was his friend or critique.
Professor Abdul Jabbar
Shakir, Director Dawa Academy adjudged Dr. Khalid’s Book
on Seerat as the most prominent among the books on
Seerat. Other speakers who spoke on the occasion were Dr.
Anees Ahmed, VC Riphah International University, Dr. Zaheer
Ahmed, CEO Shifa International Hospital, Sahibzadah Sajidur
Rehman and Air Commodor ( R ) Muhammad Salim. Earlier Dr.
M.N Qazi Director WISH welcomed the guests and said that
demise of Dr. Khalid Alavi was a great loss to the nation
and to the WISH particularly. Dr Mustafeez Alavi conducted
the proceedings. |

Traffic
Rules Awareness ensures Safety

ISLAMABAD:
Acquaintance of traffic rules can ensure safety and
tremendously reduce the risk of accidents, while following
the rules will surely reduce the danger to life in case of
an accident.
The officials of National Highway & Motorway Police (NH&MP)
said this while addressing the students of Women’s Institute
of Science & Humanities (Wish) in an awareness programme on
‘Traffic Rules & Safety Measures’ here Wednesday.
Patrolling Officer Ms Ismat Bashir showed some breathtaking
glimpses of various video films recorded at the highways and
indicated that a very minor lapse by the drivers could
result in fatal accidents, endangering the lives of the
passengers travelling in a vehicle.
She explained that fastening a seat belt ensures that the
driver and other passengers remain securely seated in their
seats during an accident, while a driver without a seat belt
is likely to dash against the steering wheel or even might
fly out, breaking the windscreen.
“A 15-pound child may create an impact of 300 pounds if not
secured by a seatbelt,” she explained.
Patrolling Officer Muhammad Naeem explained the various
traffic signs and appealed to the students to understand and
follow the signs for their own safety |

Report about Solidarity day with Gaza at WISH
Islamabad, 9 January a renowned scholar Dr. Mustafeeze Alvi
said that we must not loose hope even in such grave
circumstances and we must prepare ourselves for Jihad in its
broader sense, including the might of pen and speech using
all our resources whatever they are in out own capacity.
While speaking to the young Muslim Women at Women’s
Institute of Science and Humanities (WISH), at an expression
of solidarity with Gaza here today, he emphasized the need
of knowledge about history and education to fight the
propaganda and conspiracies against Islam.
Students of WISH protested against the brutalities of
Israeli forces. They appealed United Nations, OIC and Arab
League to take notice of this state terrorism in Palestine.
Function started with a poster exhibition which was
organized by the faculty and students of WISH which gave a
message to boycott Multinational products. By the end of the
function a slideshow was shown to the audience about the
present conditions of Palestinian Muslims in Gaza. |

ISLAMABAD, Women
Institute of Science and Humanities (WISH) on Monday
organized a fund – raising Iftar dinner which was attended
by Senator Talha Mahmood as a chief guest and renowned
social and political personalities.
The Iftar dinner was
organized to raise funds for the WISH, an institution
imparting contemporary education to the women.
WISH was founded in
federal capital in 2003 where modern education and Islamic
values go hand in hand. About 400 women have received higher
education from WISH.
The Institute houses a
permanent faculty consisting of 28 members having PhD. NPhil
and Master degrees.
The annual budget of
WISH is Rs. 38 million in which 20 million come as students’
fees and the remaining 18 million are collected through
donations by philanthropists.

Islamabad, October 18, Dr. Nasim Ashraf Chairman National
Commission for Human Development, who is also chairman PCCB
has said that root cause of backwardness of the Muslim Ummah
is continuous deterioration of their education system. There
is need to bring revolutionary changes in our education
system to bring it abreast with the latest technologies and
demands of the time.
He was addressing at an
Ifftar Dinner hosted at Women’s Institute of Science and
Humanities (WISH) Islamabad. Quoting statistics of various
Muslim countries, he said that GDP of fifty seven Muslim
countries was less than that one European country, France.
The total number of research journals published from those
fifty seven countries was less than that one of Asian
country Japan, Dr Nasim Ashraf termed this state as pathetic
and emphasized the need to establish state of the art type
educational institutions.
Dr. Nasim Ashraf said
that National Commission for Human Development aimed at
providing equal opportunities of education to all,
irrespective of their social or financial background and
about twenty thousand literacy circles have been opened so
far and more than three million women from one hundred
districts have been trained in taking care of the children.
Earlier Professor
Tayyab Gulzar, President of the WISH welcomed the chief
guest and presented a resume of the facilities being
provided at WISH particularly to the students from the
earthquake affected areas and other far flung areas of the
country.
The meeting was also
addressed by Dr. Anis Ahmed, Vice Chancellor Riphah
University, Dr. Inam – Ur- Rehman, the pioneer Chief
Scientist of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission and Kazi
Zulqadar member of the Management Board of WISH |

Yvonne Ridley’s
visit to WISH
Islamabad, 30 October,
Yvonne Ridley (Maryam) has said that Islam is not only a
religion but a complete code of life and women, being the
mother has the most important place in a family as she is
the first Maderssa for her children. Yvonne Ridley born in
1968. Stanley, County Durham, England is British journalist
best know for her capture by the Taliban and subsequent
conversion to Islam after release.
While speaking to you
Muslim women at Women’s Institute of Science and Humanities
(SISH), here today, she emphasized the importance of
education for women, as they have to prepare the coming
generation to lead the world. She elaborated the incidents,
events and stages through which inspired to embrace Islam,
after being arrested in Afghanistan, under Taliban
Government.
While answering to the
questions of the audience, she clearly stated that Islam is
a peaceful religion and has nothing to do with terrorism and
destruction; rather it preaches tolerance and justice.
