Library
Currently
the library has a comprehensive collection of over 14,000
items including latest books, journals & research materials,
Video and Audio tapes, CD-ROM etc. The Computers installed
in the library provide the Search facility to the students
& staff in order to retrieve relevant information.
Qualified
and dedicated staff is available to provide effective and
efficient lending and reference services on all working
days. A help desk provides
information and referral and advisory services to readers.
Digital Library
In addition, a digital library has been
established which provides online access to over 99,000
books and hundreds of thousands of research journals.
The beauty is that one book can be used by many at the
same time. Membership of International online digital
libraries like Questia has also been subscribed. Digital
Library has provided easy access to materials printed
and published on almost all subjects from Religion to
Science, Engineering and Humanities.
Digital Library System (e-Library) provides
access to 7 databases of information which can be
searched individually, in selected groups or by all
together. The database provides access to over 7,300
abstracted and indexed journals online from all branches
of science,
technology, medicine, social sciences, and
humanities. Over 7,000 of these are available as full
text with over 4,000 of these being fully peer reviewed.

Transport
Currently
Transport is provided to all members of the faculty, staff
and students. WISH
runs four coaches to cover almost every important route
in the twin cities. The system works very
well and helps the
users on punctuality.
Language Lab
The
Language Lab Facility allows students to drill in
different languages or experience the language of their
choice in many different ways. Taking advantage of varied
learning capacities, the lab provides auditory, visual and
tactile realms where students may familiarize themselves
with Arabic, English, Urdu, and Turkish etc.
On Campus
Housing
WISH
offers quality on-campus housing facilities to students.
The on-campus hostel accommodation currently has a
capacity to house 100 female students.
WISH
hostel offers a friendly and secure environment to its
inhabitants, and is equipped with a wide range of
facilities including laundry, kitchenette, TV lounge, and
easy access to dining facilities and great food. Dedicated
hostel staff is accessible to boarders for help at all
times, and emergency services including transport
facilities are available.
Network access has also been provided in the common areas
so that students can share computing resources if desired.
The hostel is
guarded by armed security personnel 24 hours, 365 days
of the year.
Day Care Center
The University has the Day
Care facility available for children of students and
staff. Mothers can study/work with the satisfaction that
the child is being looked after by a caring maid. Numbers
are growing. Presently two maids look after 15 toddlers.
Gymnasium
We care for the health
and physical fitness of our students and staff. A
qualified woman coach trains the trainees in the art of
keeping fit. Stationary cycles, treadmills, barbells, and
mattresses, etc., are provided in one of the spacious
rooms.
The Director Physical
Education, Mrs. Shumaila Farhan, is herself a National Player
of Hockey, Table Tennis, and Badminton. She serves as a
role model and source of inspiration to young players and
athletes.
Tuck Shop n' Cafeteria
It caters to the routine
needs of students and staff: books, stationary, ice cream,
chocolates, fresh juices, fruit chaat, toiletries to
scarves and gowns, and what not.
Students are escorted by
the warden and other staff members of the hostel and
transport department to local shopping malls twice a week.
Shopping spree, and picnic, and outing all put together.
Computer Labs n' Computer Study
Centers
The air-conditioned
computer lab houses the best possible furniture and
branded computers with 17-inch branded monitors. Complete
net-working has been done and a 24-hour wireless internet
connection is provided. Two printers, a laser and a dot
matrix, are also provided. All the internet browsing, as
well as chatting is done here. Students collect and submit
their assignments, access the WISH digital library,
intranet and other data bases and print whatever they
like.
Internet Facility is
provided round the clock under vigilance of experienced IT
staff. Presently 75 computers are available to the
students.
Internships
WISH offers internships
to a number of students in the Library, the Front Office
and the Computer Labs.
Personal Counseling
We provide counseling to our students so
that they can understand themselves better, and a
relationship is developed between the student and the
teacher. Students can go to their counselor and discuss
any problem regarding their families or their studies.
